Poetry 
We’re
confident we can offer you the very best in a personal writing book because we
designed it that way from the start. It all began when one of our employees
decided to answer the call of his wanderlust and spend some time hiking the
Rocky Mountains. Before leaving on this expedition, he wanted to make a journal
so he could record his experiences. Knowing the rigorous treatment the journal
would have to endure compelled us to bind it in the same manner journals were
bound in the early 1800’s. We began by selecting a 28 pound ledger paper for
the pages. This paper offers a smooth surface for writing, is durable, acid-free
and opaque. The pages were then hand sewn Thru-fold, a style that allows the
books to open flat for ease of writing. The sewing integrated cloth tapes to
provide additional anchoring of the pages to the cover we would soon make.
Keeping with the 1800’s style journal, we decided to make the cover with
leather around the spine and the corners, complemented with canvas. Our choice
of leather was a Nigerian Goatskin, well known for its durability and naturally
beautiful texture. We didn’t stop there, though. We included raised bands on
the spine, then decorated it with a title and some special tooling. We could go
on and on about the way this book was bound, but you have been gracious enough
to give us this much of your time. We’ll just say, it was one tough book with
all the trimmings! In fact, we were so pleased with the results, it became the
flagship for a whole new line of quality writing books. So browse through the
different styles we offer; there’s a lot to choose from. If you still don’t
